    En recorrido el día de hoy por la Pretroncal Sur del sistema Metroplús Tramo 4A fase 1-B, el alcalde de Itagüí, José Fernando Escobar Estrada y el gerente de Metroplús Jaime Alberto Garzón Araque, dieron a conocer el significativo avance de la obra en 3 frentes de trabajo: Calzada Sur entre calle 47A y 50, el Box Culvert de la quebrada La Tablaza y la intervención del puente de la calle 51 sobre la quebrada Doña María.  

    Con relación al frente 1 se han realizado excavaciones y construcción de muros de contención, demolición de estructuras existentes para ejecución de vías y conformación de jarillones en la quebrada Doña María, entre otros.  

    En el frente 2 se destaca el desvío de la Quebrada La Tablaza, así como el armado en acero de muros y losa superior del segundo tramo del box oolbert e instalación de tubería nueva en PVC. Finalmente, en el frente 3 se están construyendo las pilas de lo que será el futuro puente en la calle 51. 

    El proyecto que tiene una inversión aproximada de 39 mil millones de pesos, recursos provenientes de la Nación y el municipio de Itagüí, comprende un kilómetro desde el parque vial Quebrada Doña María, calzada norte entre las calles 55 y 47A, y calzada sur entre calles 50 y 47A, en el que se construirá un carril exclusivo para la circulación del Metroplús y dos carriles para el tráfico mixto, que permitirán mejorar la movilidad del sur del Valle de Aburrá y reducir de manera significativa los tiempos de viaje de los usuarios. 

    Además, se ejecutarán obras complementarias como la reposición y ampliación de redes de acueducto y alcantarillado, telecomunicaciones, electricidad, alumbrado público, vías vehiculares y peatonales, ciclorrutas, urbanismo, intervención del espacio público continuo, accesos especiales por las esquinas, pasos semaforizados y accesos a los buses y estaciones. 

    Para la Alcaldía de Itagüí y Metroplús es de gran importancia el factor ambiental, de ahí que la obra contempla la construcción de zonas verdes y conservación de corredores ecológicos para mejorar la biodiversidad y mantener el equilibrio ambiental; es por ello que 595 árboles serán sembrados dentro del área de influencia directa e indirecta del proyecto, 22 han sido trasplantados y 57 se conservan, haciendo un aprovechamiento forestal responsable que garantiza el compromiso con el medio ambiente.  

    “Estamos muy satisfechos por el avance de esta obra que  contribuirá a la movilidad del sur del Valle de Aburrá, con carriles exclusivos para la circulación de un transporte rápido, eficaz y ambientalmente sostenible, que permitirá reducir los tiempos de viaje, aunado a los beneficios que traerán las obras complementarias, en las que venimos recuperando el espacio peatonal con renovación urbano paisajística para mejorar el entorno y brindar mejor calidad de vida de los ciudadanos”, manifestó Jaime Alberto Garzón Araque, gerente de Metroplús.
