El alcalde de Itagüí José Fernando Escobar Estrada y el gerente de Metroplús S.A. Jaime Alberto Garzón Araque dieron a conocer que en un 50% avanzan las obras en la Pretroncal Sur del sistema Metroplús Tramo 4A fase 1-B, que comprende la intervención de 500 metros lineales distribuidos en 5 frentes de trabajo.

El proyecto que tiene una inversión aproximada de 39 mil millones de pesos, recursos provenientes de la Nación y el municipio de Itagüí, comprende un kilómetro desde el parque vial Quebrada Doña María, calzada norte entre las calles 55 y 47A, y calzada sur entre calles 50 y 47A, en el que se construirá un carril exclusivo para la circulación del Metroplús y dos carriles para el tráfico mixto, que permitirán mejorar la movilidad del sur del Valle de Aburrá y reducir de manera significativa los tiempos de viaje de los usuarios.

Del frente 1 se destaca la culminación del box culvert de la quebrada La Tablaza y la construcción del muro de contención frente a tiendas Metro Cencosud. En el frente 2 se implementó el PMT, se hicieron los cerramientos, excavaciones y armado de muros; y en el frente 3, se avanza en el vaciado de zapatas, conformación de jarillones y construcción de las pilas de lo que será el futuro puente en la calle 51 sobre la quebrada Doña María.

“Estamos muy satisfechos por este avance tan significativo de obra, pues a pesar de las afectaciones que se ha tenido por la fuerte temporada de lluvias que ha ocasionado un alto nivel del caudal en la quebrada Doña María, se ha cumplido prácticamente con el cronograma establecido, lo que nos permitirá culminar en junio del 2023 este proyecto que contribuirá a la movilidad del sur del Valle de Aburrá, entregando una infraestructura que permitirá un transporte rápido, eficaz y ambientalmente sostenible y unos espacios urbano-paisajísticos que embellecerán el entorno y aportarán a la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos”, manifestó Jaime Alberto Garzón Araque, gerente de Metroplús.
