-Con una propuesta superior a la proyectada, el consorcio ganador será el encargado de entregarle a la ciudad 64 buses eléctricos.

 -La flota, que será una de las más grandes de Latinoamérica, deberá ser entregada en el segundo semestre de 2019.

 -De esta manera, Medellín se convertirá en la capital de la movilidad eléctrica en América Latina.

Luego de revisar las propuestas económicas, técnicas y financieras de cuatro firmas especializadas en buses, Metroplús adjudicó el contrato para la adquisición de vehículos ciento por ciento eléctricos al consorcio Green Medellín, conformado por la empresa china BYD Industry Company Limited – Casa Matriz- y BYD Motor Colombia.

Esta adjudicación, que tenía un alcance proyectado de mínimo 55 buses eléctricos, superó esta cifra en 9 unidades, para un total de 64 padrones y es una de las flotas más grandes de América Latina de esta naturaleza, lo que ratifica el compromiso de la Administración Municipal de adoptar medidas para  mejorar la calidad del aire.

Los buses son tipo padrón y deberán ser fabricados en 2019. La nueva flota contará con 16 puntos de carga eléctrica. Con dos horas de esta, cada vehículo podrá recorrer más de 300 kilómetros.

La firma BYD es reconocida en la industria automotriz por su trayectoria en el campo de las nuevas fuentes de funcionamiento para buses eléctricos y en estaciones de almacenamiento de energía. Con ello, se busca fortalecer la política de transporte público colectivo y masivo en condiciones de accesibilidad y economía, así como avanzar en el liderazgo de la movilidad sostenible en el país.
