-La Alcaldía de Medellín y Metroplús S.A. publicaron invitación de oferta para la adquisición de esta nueva flota.

 -Este proceso, que tendrá una inversión de $75.229 millones, incluye la compra de los vehículos eléctricos y la puesta en funcionamiento de puntos de carga.

Para contribuir con la reducción de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero a través de la implementación de tecnologías eléctricas y  con la innovación en el servicio de la movilidad inteligente, la Alcaldía de Medellín y Metroplús iniciaron el  proceso de invitación pública para adquirir un mínimo de 55 buses 100 % eléctricos. Para ello se fijó el 7 de diciembre de 2018 a las 4:00 p. m. como fecha límite de presentación de propuestas y se proyecta un plazo máximo para la entrega de los buses el 15 de junio de 2019.

Serán vehículos tipo padrón con fecha de fabricación de 2019 y  por lo tanto todas sus partes deberán ser nuevas, originales y cero kilómetros. Tendrán que cumplir con la condición de ser propulsados a batería lo que reemplazará gradualmente a los antiguos buses movidos con combustible diésel. Deberán contar con garantía de buen funcionamiento y soporte técnico por un periodo mínimo de 10 años.

“Porque aunque Metroplús es hoy un sistema de bajas emisiones porque tiene buses a gas, la idea es ir renovando cada uno por eléctricos. De esta forma contribuimos a mejorar la calidad del aire. La meta que tenemos es que Medellín se convierta en la capital de la movilidad eléctrica en América Latina. Es un compromiso con el país y la región y por eso estamos en la Red C40 que trabaja para enfrentar el cambio climático”, expresó el alcalde de Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez Zuluaga.

Con esta adquisición se busca garantizar y fortalecer la política de transporte público colectivo y masivo en condiciones de accesibilidad y economía. También se logrará que, en el corto plazo, se materialice una operación temprana con sistemas eléctricos, lo que podría,  posteriormente, evolucionar a tecnología tranviaria, en función del crecimiento de la demanda y de la evolución urbanística.
